- Jun 10th - 11th 2020The first two funded MathCoRe PhD fellows successfully defended their PhD theses. Frank Röttger's thesis "Geometry of Optimal Design and Limit Theorems" and Christopher Borger's thesis on "Mixed Lattice Polytope Theory with a View towards Sparse Polynomial Systems" were both evaluated as exceptionally strong dissertations in the intersection of different fields of mathematics. Frank has already moved on to a postdoc position at the MPI in Leipzig, whereas Christopher successfully applied for start-up funding of the Research Training Group.
